NATIONAL TEMPORARY WORKERS’ WEEK 17-21 MAY 2004

Atebion hit the headlines in May when we celebrated National Temporary Workers’ Week.
This is an annual event organised by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation.
Here is the article that appeared in the Daily Post on 20 th May.

SWEET TREATS FOR THE TIRELESS TEMPS

Written by David Jones Phtography by Richard Parry Jones

They’re members of a great, largely unsung army of workers – the temps.

But yesterday, one North Wales recruitment agency said a big thank you to all the temporary workers on its books with a surprise gift.

Atebion Recruitment celebrated National Temporary Workers Week by delivering a small box of chocolates to each of their temps’ desks at workplaces throughout the region.

Non Roberts of Caernarfon, who is a temporary administrative assistant at the Daily Post’s Llandudno Junction offices, was among those to receive the chocolates.

The company, which has offices in Bangor and Llandudno, said the gesture was its way of recognising the hard work and support it had received from its temporary staff over the past year, and the part they play in the smooth running of businesses in North Wales.

National Temporary Workers Week is an annual event organised by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation to acknowledge the UK’s 1m temps make to the national economy.

Recruitment agencies are marking the week in a variety of ways, including holding parties and nominating outstanding temps for a “One in a Million” award sponsored by the confederation.
