My First Day |
| I was warmly greeted by the
Managing Director, who showed me around the building
and helped me to
settle in to my working environment. She was extremely
helpful and took a great deal of time to explain
the company’s business. |
| Your impression of the company you are temping
for? |
| I am enjoying my time at this company and the diversity
of my current position. One minute I am preparing
course notes and the next speaking to clients giving
them details of the courses that are available. I
am currently studying Welsh at evening classes and
am able to use this to a certain degree during my
working day. The staff and trainers are extremely
friendly and approachable – they are aware
of adapting an individual’s skills and helping
people to understand their personal role. |
| Your impression of temping work? |
| Temping is a way of assessing the workplace and
discovering the varied businesses in the area. I
enjoy the diversity of the work having to quickly
adapt from one working environment to another. It
also helps to maintain skills and acquire new ones,
which can only help to make me more marketable to
prospective employers. |
| How do you think temping will help you in finding
permanent work? |
| By temping I think you gain an excellent insight
to the various workplaces and what positions are
available. It also helps to maintain skills and sometimes
acquire news ones. It also helps employers to see
that someone is not afraid to take on challenges
by changing from one work environment to another.
I would like to think that the temping roles that
I take on will make me more marketable to future
employers when they assess my job applications. |
